Cytotaxanomic study on Genus Angelica


Abstract
A comparative study on Dangui and Kang-whal, the two species of Angelica growing in Korea, was carried about the gross morphology and cytology.

The somatic chromosome number of Cham Dangui, Ill Dangui, Badi-namul was found to be 2N=22.
The caryotypes of the species are as follows; the 22 chromosomes, which could be classified into 4 pairs of medium chromosome 6 pairs of submedium ones and one pair of subterminal.
The somatic chromosome numbers were found to be 2N=110 on the taxa Kang-whal,2N=44 Chili Khal and 2N=22 Mul Kang-whal.
The size of stomata are similar to the taza Dangui. Stomata of Chili Kang-whal and kang-whal are strickingly larger than the others.
Chromosomes of Angelica shows polyploid series.
